What a cool place to eat. I recommend making a reservation as it is small and very popular. The food was delicious, cooked by the chef / owner. Great atmosphere, really fun.

My Boyfriend And I have been in Japan for almost 2 weeks now. This was our favorite meal. From the freshly made dishes to the amazing hospitality.. we couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was SO great we made reservations for the next night before we even left… It was so refreshing to have a TRUE Italian meal. I was thinking about my pasta and bruschetta dish the next day!

Finding this place felt somewhat like a moment out of a fantasy movie. We were staying in an AirBNB across the street and saw the sign indicating an Italian restaurant was located behind a building down a twisting little alley. At the back of the Alley was just a small door. Didn't look like there could possibly be a high quality restaurant in this location, but how wrong we were. It turned out that this was one of our favorite meals of our group of 5 people from two weeks in Japan. A great atmosphere, fun and knowledgeable hosts and some of the best italian food we have had anywhere, including italy! The chef really knows what he is doing. The little pizzas were tasty, light and crispy, but the pasta were to die for. HIGHLY recommend this spot!

Small, intimate, and cute restaurant. It wasn't busy when we went, so we were able to seat 4 people easily. Kids had the pinsa margherita, my husband had the ravioli de casa (had a cream sauce today), and I had the gnocchi with crab cream sauce. All dishes were fantastic and great flavors. Was definitely a great find in Kyoto for sure and will have to come again when we visit another time in the future! Thank you two for the wonderful meal!

We had such a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, and even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff welcomed us warmly. They were very flexible with small changes to the dishes and made sure everything suited our taste. Everyone was so kind and it was truly enjoyable to chat with them. Fabio, the owner, is incredibly gracious and a great conversationalist — he really made us feel at home, and the waiter Federico as well. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love trippa, especially the kind from Firenze — and my husband brought me here where they actually serve it. I almost cried, it was that good! It truly felt like being back in Florence.

Such a lovely Italian restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and you can really tell how much care goes into every dish. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The owner is incredibly kind and made us feel right at home — such a great experience, especially while travelling in Japan. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

An absolute must-try! The closest thing to authentic Florentine cuisine outside of Florence. Whether you want a break from traditional Japanese food or, like us, just wanted a comfort meal, Vinaino is perfect in every way. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is cosy, and the Chef is absolutely incredible at what he does. Cannot fault the meal or service in any way. Great vibes and excellent food. We cannot wait to come back again! Thank you!! 🥰🥰

As an Italian, I can honestly say that dining at Vinaino felt like being back in Italy for a night. The quality and freshness of the ingredients really stood out, and every dish carried authentic flavors that reminded me of home. From the very first bite to the last, it was a true Italian experience.
